Sūtra 9 of 20 · Bondage
चिद्वत्तच्छक्तिसंकोचात् मलावृतः संसारी
cidvat tacchaktisaṃkocāt malāvṛtaḥ saṃsārī
Full of consciousness (cidvat) though it is, through the contraction of its powers (śakti-saṃkoca) it becomes the transmigrating soul (saṃsārī), covered by impurity (mala).
